For the first time and exclusive to Selfridges, TIME² has the honour to showcase the rare, limited edition IWC Portuguese Regulateur Tourbillon watch range (with only 100 pieces available in rose gold, white gold and platinum).
The 43.1mm manual wound watch is truly a work of art, with the unusual arrangements of the hands which can be traditionally found on the wall of a watch manufacturers workshop, so the watchmaker could set the time more accurately.
Typically, IWC has kept the case elegant with simple Arabic numerals following through the Portuguese theme. However, the striking emphasis is all in the flying minute tourbillon which occupies the 9 0'clock position and showcases a sneak preview of the stunning combination of IWC made components, fused with 25 jewels.
As if that isn't enough, when you turn to the back of the watch through the sapphire crystal window, here lies a feast for the eyes!
Overwhelmingly, the unique movement has a sweeping tourbillon bridge, which bears a small medallion with the IWC seal 'Probus Scufusia.' And because of its recognisable plate, which the designers unofficially refer to as the 'Batman Bridge', IWC are not concerned with good against evil but deliver sound, solid craftsmanship from Schaffhausen with the finest setting for mechanical recording.
