TIME² Chats To Taio Cruz At The LTD RXTR Watch Launch

Taio said as he generally wears the colour black, he wanted the collection to reflect this, along with his passion for fast cars. He explained: “I wanted more of a driver’s watch because I am influenced by cars, you will see this in my videos. The black design feels like a driver’s watch, and you should be driving a fast car wearing it. I wanted to work with the LTD brand because they know how to make precision instruments.”

Taio said a watch collection was a natural progression for him, as he’s definitely an accessories man. He said: “I’m a fan of accessories – sunglasses, watches, leather goods – and I wear a lot of these.” He told TIME² he'd love to see the likes of Russell Brand, Kate Moss or James Bond (Daniel Craig) wearing the LTD RXTR collection. “The style of RXTR is classic, contemporary but edgy. Kate Moss would really suit this,” he said.

When asked about his top three styling tips, he said: “I wear clothes that are fitted and black. Black never goes out of fashion, so it always looks timeless in pictures. I would also say wear a light fragrance, you don’t want it to be too overbearing. And Clinique products are great.”

Alongside LTD on the designer side, he also admires luxury brands, such as Chanel and Louis Vuitton. He said: “Louis Vuitton is great for accessories, and I love Chanel – but they don’t make enough stuff for me!”
