Cerise, turquoise, emerald, tomato… this spring’s palette is certainly not for the colour averse. Inspired by Yves Saint Laurent’s vibrant tropical shades, the bright and the bold are worn clashed together for optimum, uncompromising effect.
Watches follow suit, with sporty styles contrasting with primary-coloured parkas, slouchy shirts and T-shirt dresses.
Juicy Couture’s hot purple resin-strapped watch was made to brush against the cuffs of Jil Sander’s Kelly green jacket, while DKNY’s pink crystal-adorned watch cries out to be coordinated with her slouchy turquoise blouse.
That said, colourful clothes don’t have to be accessorised with colourful watches. A violet sweater or mango-hued jumpsuit looks just as striking when paired with a stark white watch. The perfect candidate? Try Burberry’s minimalist quartz number.
[TIME² has also just launched watch brand Oasis online. It features fabulous, brightly coloured pink, green, blue and yellow watches (amongst other) and at £20 a pop - you can one buy one in every colour!]
