Last night, TIME² attended the VIP drinks for Salon QP (the UK's largest fine watch fair which kicks off today). Alongside browsing some fantastic timepieces (with a glass or two of champagne along the way!), we chatted to musician and artist Ronnie Wood - who was unveiling his bespoke, hand painted Bremont clocks.
Ronnie Wood, who was wearing a Bremont watch, said he is really excited to be associated with "such a classy brand." He said he loves the story of Bremont and how the founders (brothers Nick and Giles English) were inspired to start the brand by their Dad, who died in a plane crash. He also loves the fact that it is a British brand and British made (after the unveiling he wore a British flag clock cover as a scarf).
The large clocks will be bespoke made and handpainted by Ronnie, featuring paintings inspired by his life. He showed me the first clock, which features a horse painting, and told me he loves painting anything with movement, such as horses or water. Ronnie says he has horses at his house in Ireland, he also has race horses but he doesn't ride them because they are "too highly strung." Another clock has a water theme and another is inspired by his rock-and-roll experiences. Ronnie also told me that he would be hand painting the wooden cases which house the clocks, they will include a painting on the inside which he says will double as a wall painting. Ronnie said he is also considering a watch collaboration with Bremont, but we'll have to wait and see!
TIME² will be at Salon QP all day today filming, so keep posted for all the news and latest watches from the UK's biggest watch fair.
