Another exciting watch due to arrive in Selfridges [and online] is the Bremont P51 Mustang Limited watch (251 pieces). A certifified chronometer chronograph built watch with original parts from the famous 1944 Mustang WWII aircraft P-51K-10 (serial number 44-12016).
This unique collectable watch has the original aluminium metal from the aircraft fuselage which is integrated into both the dial and the movement. The design of the dial was inspired by the clocks found in the P51 aircraft. The 43mm hardened steel Trip-Tick case is nine times harder than any watch sold at present, using Bremont's B-EBE2000 technology.
As with many of the Bremont's latest watch designs, the P51 has a modified Swiss movement which is assembled in the UK, and therefore the dial has London printed in the 30 minute totalizer. Cleverly, Bremont has instilled its Roto-Click technology by positioning the internal rotating bezel operated by the crown at 8H. As with all Bremont watches, this watch is water resistance to 100 metres and has domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal.
I am really excited about the arrival of this interesting cool watch; not only is there a piece of history in the design, but it is also a fabulously practical watch. Who else could bring the Mustang 1944 WWII to the wrist in style?
