BREITLING PROFESSIONAL AEROSPACE

The first thing you may notice about the Aerospace is its weight – or lack thereof. The case is made of titanium (a metal that’s synonymous with cutting-edge aviation) and as a result, the piece tips just 38g on the scales. But its lightness doesn’t compromise performance or the vast array of precision functions: it features a 1/100th second chronograph, countdown timer, a second timezone, an alarm and audible time indication. The case of this pilots’ favourite is kept clear of unsightly buttons, as all of these functions are controlled simply by pressing, pulling or rotating the crown. Clever stuff.

Within the 42mm casing beats the heart of Breitling’s superb SuperQuartz movement, allowing the analogue time and 12/24hr digital LCD display to work in perfect harmony.

BREITLING PROFESSIONAL CHRONOSPACE

Another model that’s celebrated in the aviation world, the Chronospace truly represents Breitling’s core value of functionality. The 1/100th chronograph is capable of split times and can record up to 99 days, there’s a dual function and independent alarm, and a digital and perpetual calendar. Plus, the oversize hands and NVG-compatible backlighting system allow ease of use at night. It’s water resistant to 50m and contains the same SuperQuartz movement as the Aerospace.

The Chronospace is ideal for those who like a little more weight on their wrists – its large 48mm case is made of steel and weighs in at just over 105g, making it more than twice the weight of the Aerospace.
