Raymond Weil, unerringly elegant and a constant presence at glamorous music events, is one of only a handful of successful family-owned Swiss watch companies.
Raymond Weil is a prolific brand by all accounts with a burgeoning presence in Asia. Founded in 1976 by the man himself, today Geneva-based Raymond Weil is run by son-in-law Olivier Bernheim, with young grandsons Elie and Pierre directing marketing and sales respectively. There’s even a fetching watch named after Raymond Weil’s granddaughter Noemia.
The people at Raymond Weil are proud of their third generation family heritage and are committed to remaining independent - a rare quality in the Swiss watch industry nowadays. Their pioneering spirit was clear from the start though. Raymond Weil began at a time when the watch business was in crisis. All of which explains their brand’s motto -“Independence is a state of mind”.
Raymond Weil can also be rightfully proud of a fair share of celebrity music industry friends. You could say it all started in 1983 when they brought out the Amadeus collection in conjunction with Milos Forman's world acclaimed film of the same name. With watch collections with names from Don Giovanni to Maestro and a new collection made up of watches with operatic names from Nabucco to Parsifal, Raymond Weil’s history is bursting with music industry collaborations.
The full list of Raymond Weil’s 30 year presence at international music industry events is dazzling, ranging from official partners to the BRIT and Classic BRIT Awards, the Royal Opera House, and design collaborations with Craig David and Lemar. They’ve also enjoyed official endorsements from music stars Katherine Jenkins, Leona Lewis, Il Divo and the Sugababes. Music to your ears?
