In the Sixties, Old England watches captured the energy and excitement of London’s exploding fashion scene. Now, more than 40 years on, Old England has relaunched with a bold new collection which is now available online at TIME²…
Old England: Launched 1967, Relaunched 2011
Directional and unique timepieces, Old England’s designs became the British accessory to be seen in in the 1960’s. Previous devotees of the brand included iconic names such as The Beatles, Twiggy, Princess Anne and Elton John (who had fifty bespoke Old England watches).
With a distinctive look and cool Brit style, Old England has re-launched with a new unisex range combining strong shapes, colours and symbols. The new range has been split into 3 collections: Classic Roman, Be Brave and New Union.
Classic Roman
The Classic Roman collection includes a variety of face shapes and sizes using bold, graphic designs and striking Roman numerals, including the much-loved pocket watch (as seen on the singer Jessie J).
Be Brave
This daring and flamboyant collection captures the zeitgeist of the 1960’s and celebrates its eccentricity. The range features bold Arabic and oversized numerals against strong pops of colour. Bright pinks and yellows are contrasted with thick black bezels and metallic silvers.
New Union
New union presents a variety of combinations from the classic red, white and blue to the more exuberant pink and green union jacks. This collection focuses on the British flag as a genius piece of graphic design. Bezels are trimmed in either gold or silver and work across a variety of sizes. New Union accentuates the notion of ‘Britishness’ and with its bold visual impact these watches firmly cement Old England’s fashion voice.
