With London Fashion Week now underway all eyes are on Burberry to see if it can build on its menswear success at Milan fashion week a few weeks ago. Burberry Prorsum has been on fire in the last 2 season previews, with Christopher Bailey taking the brand in a completely new direction, away from their staple trenches and muted colour ways.
In the spring/summer 2011 previews Bailey gave us ‘The Biker’ trend, which is set to be one of the only trends that crosses the gender divide this season, and if the Milan Fall 2011 showcase was anything to go by, we can expect to see Burberry dominating the male and female outerwear market at the end of the year, as other designers and the high street attempt to recreate some of their amazing bold coloured overcoats and ‘a coat for all seasons’ ethos.

However, something Burberry has always done well is the military look. Whether you are talking about their iconic trench coats, double breasted peacoats or long wool overcoats, you will always see a heavy military influence by way of buttons, pocket flaps or epaulettes. It is a trend that is pushed each and every year in both men and women’s fashion, and this year will be no exception from what we have seen on the New York, Milan and Paris runways.
This Burberry Military Round Black Dial Steel Case Unisex Vintage Fashion Watch is the perfect accompaniment to any outfit and will have you right on trend. The military styling means that is can be paired with crisp white shirts, blazers, double breasted jackets and chunky boots easily in order to reinforce and tie together a military look, or used the other way as a subtle nod to the trend with your jeans and tee/polo shirt combinations.
The vintage faded element to the casing means it looks lived in already which is great when you are trying to hit such a rugged and outdoorsy trend, whilst the canvas strap makes it suitable for hot weather in Spring/Summer and the colder weather in Autumn/Winter. It really is an all year round accessory. I particularly like this green strap colourway (also comes in black) as it is not only hits the military trend perfectly, but it is unique and makes the item more of a statement piece.
