Gc Takes the Plunge into White Diver Chic

The white and gold women’s watch may be a staple of the summer but that doesn’t mean it has to be staid or stale. Ask Guess, and its watch brand Gc, which has survived and prospered exactly by confounding expectation.

On that score, its Gc Diver Chic Watch does not disappoint, mixing energy with elegance, the sporty with the stylish. Among the highlights of this chronograph for women is a mother-of-pearl dial featuring three sub-dials and a date-window positioned just a little off-kilter, enough to make it interesting, at 4 o’clock.

The classic look of the dial, highlighted by Roman numerals at a symmetrical but still offbeat 12, 5 and 7, is offset by the white ceramic bezel held between two rings plated in rose gold and by the gold lugs and crown.

It may be water-resistant to 100m but the overall effect is about femininity more than anything else. Indeed, this may be a diver’s watch but it is the chic in the name that rules the day and that makes it the classic Gc watch.
