G-Shock opened the doors last night to its brand new pop-up shop in the heart of Covent Garden. Not only did it open the doors, but it also let TIME² inside for a beer, some sausage rolls and a boogie in the basement.
The store was full of watches, which you might expect, but last night it was also host to a legion of street artists. Each of them was busy scribbling on the white walls with thick black pens and faces emerged of giant cartoon people and G-Shock watches.
This collaboration with the underground art scene ran through the whole evening. Steve Sutherland was spinning records in the basement, which was otherwise a shabby pit with a table in one corner and a box of wine in the other. KRINK, the legendary US graffiti artist, had been busy stamping silver marks onto a Ltd Edition watch, (exclusively previewed by Time2.co.uk and available in May) and I, armed with a marker pen and full of childhood rebellion, completed my first piece of street art.
Not quite Banksy, but a little masterpiece nonetheless.
The pop-up G-Shock store is at 51 Neal Street, Coven Garden.

Great piece Victoria - like the 'street art' - when will we see more?!
